CASE STUDY: IMMIX Productions Brings Hyundai’s Clean Logistics Vision to Life at ACT Expo 2025

Project: HTWO Energy Savannah – Hydrogen and Electric Refueling Station 

At the 2025 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled HTWO Energy Savannah, the industry’s first dual-energy hydrogen and electric refueling station designed specifically for heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles. Strategically located just 10 miles from the Port of Savannah, Georgia, this facility supports Hyundai’s clean logistics strategy for its new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) and is a key milestone in the effort to decarbonize port and freight operations.

IMMIX Productions was selected as a creative partner to help visually tell this story. In collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company, HydroFleet, and Capital Development Partners, IMMIX developed a high-impact animation that debuted during Hyundai’s opening ceremony presentation at ACT Expo 2025.

1. Project Objectives

  • Visually communicate the real-world function of a dual-energy trans-loading station
  • Demonstrate the use of Hyundai’s XCIENT Class-8 hydrogen fuel cell trucks in operation
  • Simulate a typical day of use, including driver workflow and equipment integration
  • Emphasize key performance indicators such as hydrogen capacity (1,200 kg/day immediately available, and future capacity of 4,200 kg/day), and the capability to service 100 fleet trucks/day
  • Support Hyundai’s clean logistics messaging and partner ecosystem

2. Strategy and Creative Approach

IMMIX produced a 2 minute animated sequence to simulate operations at the HTWO Energy Savannah site. The creative direction balanced technical accuracy with cinematic clarity, focused on delivering an educated and engaged experience.

Key scenes included:

  • XCIENT truck pulling into the facility and entering a charging lane
  • The truck completes the charge cycle and drives away around other vehicles
  • Site context, including foliage, barriers, fencing, equipment pads, and signage
  • Integration of HydroFleet assets: T480, H400 systems, and 700 Bar dispenser
  • Emphasize on-site amenities and truck servicing
  • Incorporate Hyundai’s IONIQ 5
  • Realistic visual representation of the site layout, derived from CAD-based schematics

IMMIX used a combination of new and existing 3D assets to accelerate production while preserving quality. The animation was built with future applications in mind, including modular use in virtual reality or interactive media presentations.

3. Client Collaborations

Hyundai Motor Company

As the visionary behind HTWO Energy Savannah, Hyundai provided the technical framework and clean mobility narrative. IMMIX worked closely with Hyundai’s hydrogen and commercial vehicle divisions to align on energy performance metrics, infrastructure goals, and how the animation would support Hyundai’s keynote presentation and brand messaging at ACT Expo.

HydroFleet

HydroFleet, a leader in hydrogen fleet refueling infrastructure, provided models and engineering details for Hydrogen production, storage and dispensing systems. They aimed to showcase how their equipment performs in a typical Hydrogen refueling station. IMMIX modeled, textured, and animated HydroFleet’s systems, creating a realistic depiction of operation and flow.

Capital Development Partners

As the site development lead, Capital Development Partners shared essential layout, construction, and zoning references. IMMIX integrated this data to accurately reflect the real world layout and physical footprint of the HTWO Energy Savannah station—ensuring credibility for development, logistics, and investment stakeholders.

4. Production and Technical Highlights

  • Advanced environmental and technical modeling, including:
    • Trestles, tank trailers, fueling components, and Jersey barriers
    • XCIENT truck modifications, including fueling hatch and lighting
    • Custom foliage, UV mapping, decals, and landscape sculpting
  • Created cinematic camera work to drive excitement and emotion
  • Optimized and organized with future interactive capability
  • Worker animations added human context to the sequence.
  • Delivered on an accelerated 2–3 week schedule ahead of ACT Expo debut

5. Results and Impact

The finished animation was showcased during Hyundai’s opening presentation at ACT Expo 2025, becoming a key visual anchor for the public reveal of HTWO Energy Savannah.

Results included:

  • Immediate engagement from media, industry leaders, and logistics stakeholders
  • A reusable asset for Hyundai, HydroFleet, and Capital Development Partners across investor decks, public outreach, and technical presentations
  • A narrative and visual foundation for future digital experiences, including VR integrations
